UMBC Africana Studies Students Visit
The National Cathedral
Washington, D.C.
Sunday April 19, 2009

On Sunday April 19th, AFST 375 students spent a "double-day" site visit in Washington, D.C. at the "Church for all People". Activities included a tour of the site from the Tower to the Crypt, an exercise in Meditation often overlooked in contemporary African and African American religious practices, and an opportunity to meet with Mr. Greg Finch, representative of the Cathedral's Community of Reconciliation. Members of the class also invited guests. The final gathering included a visit to the Bishop's Garden for a photo opportunity. From all accounts, it was a great experience for all!
